Shirley A. Dash, affectionately known as EAGLESHIRLEY, is a multifaceted individual whose life is marked by strong faith and a deep sense of family. She is a God-fearing woman and holds many cherished roles, including mother, g-mom, sister, aunt, cousin, actor, singer, Information Technology professional, and adjunct professor. Shirley is also an alum of Drexel University’s MSIS program and was honored to contribute as an author to Drexel University DUBAC’s “A Legacy to Share” Vol. 2. (2024)
Beyond her professional and academic achievements, Shirley is widely recognized within the Philadelphia sports community. Many know her as EAGLESHIRLEY, a popular caller on 94.1 WIP FM, a local sports talk radio in Philadelphia. Her passion for the Philadelphia Eagles, affectionately referred to as “her Birds,” drew the attention of the team and sparked the beginning of a special relationship. Shirley’s enthusiasm led her to star in commercial advertisements “You Can’t Script This” for the Eagles, including the notable “Bring It” and “What You Want” campaigns.
Her media presence extends beyond commercials. She has co-starred in Tony Luke’s Eaglemania (episodes 11 and 12), participated in “E.A.G.L.E.S The Movie Documentary” (2005), and appeared in the NFL Thursday Night Commercial versus the Green Bay Packers in 2019. Shirley frequently attends events and games, always cheering on her beloved Eagles.
Shirley’s collaborative spirit is evident in her work with local radio personality Mimi Brown of iHeart Radio 105.3 WDAS FM. Co-host the Phantastic Sports Show (2024, 2025). Shirley may be seen occasionally on local tv Sports segments to Good Day America rallying for her Birds (various years to current). She co-starred in the “Maybe This Year” documentary produced by Wavelength (2019), and in Shibe’s Vintage Sports 76ers Playoff Commercial alongside Johnny GoodTimes, Fergus Carey, and Reef (2022). Additionally, Shirley appeared in NBC’s “Free Agency Fan” with host Matt Iseman in 2022.
Dedicated to educating and empowering women in sports, Shirley shares her football expertise through teaching and mentoring. Her commitment led to the creation of “Football 101 Do’s and Don’ts for the Ladies,” which began in 2018. Building on this effort, she authored “Football 101 Do’s and Don’ts for The Ladies: Things You Should Know Before and After the Game,” published in 2025.
While Shirley’s deep affection for football is well known, her enthusiasm extends to all of Philadelphia’s major and minor league teams. She can often be found cheering, singing, and dancing at games for the Phillies, Sixers, Flyers, and Union, bringing her trademark energy and support wherever she goes.
Shirley’s commitment to her city’s sports community also includes supporting Philadelphia’s college and university teams. She actively posts in support of local collegiate athletics and even encourages high school sports, especially when it comes to the young athletes in her family. Her passion for sports is not limited to professional teams but encompasses the entire spectrum of Philadelphia’s athletic talent, from the grassroots to the grandest stages.
